Would you like to have peace with God?

Step One

God’s Plan: Life and Peace
God loves you and wants you to experience eternal life, abundant life, peace, and a personal relationship with Him.

The Bible Says....

God created you.
"For you created my inmost being, you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made, your works are wonderful. I know that full well."Psalm 139:13-14

God loves you and offers eternal life.
"For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."
John 3:16

God wants you to experience abundant life.
"I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."John 10:10

God wants you to know Him.
"Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.John 17:3

Why don’t most people have this abundant life and peace that God planned for us to have?

Step Two

The Problem: Our sin keeps us from having a personal relationship with God. Since God did create us in His own image to have an abundant life, he did not make us like robots to involuntarily love and obey Him. God has given us a free will—the freedom to make our own choices. The Bible says...

The Bible says...

What is sin?
"Anyone then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn’t do it, sins." James 4:17

Who has sinned?
"...for all (that means me and you) have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."Romans 3:23

What happens when we sin?
"But your iniquities (sin) have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear.Isaiah 59:2

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23

Throughout history, people have sensed their separation from God. They have tried to bridge the gap in many different ways without success.

The Bible says...
"There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it
leads to death." Proverbs 14:12 "But your iniquities (sins) have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear."

There is only one bridge to reach God!

Step Three

God’s Bridge = The Cross

God’s Remedy = The Cross

Only through Jesus Christ can you have a personal relationship with God. Jesus Christ died on the Cross and rose from the grave. He paid the penalty for our sin and "bridged the gap" between God and us.

The Bible says...

"Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life.

No one comes to the Father except through me.’" John 14:6

"There is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" I Timothy 2:5

"For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the nrighteous, to bring you to God." 1 Peter 3:18

"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

"...Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the scriptures..." I Corinthians. 15:3&4

God has provided the only way.
Each person must make a choice.

Step Four

You must personally respond by receiving Jesus Christ. You respond with trust in Christ. The Bible says...

"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me." Revelation 3:20

"Yet to all who received Him to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God." John 1:12

"That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9

Where are you? Is there any good reason why you cannot receive Jesus Christ right now? Here is how you can receive Christ right now.

  1. Admit you have a need. Willingly say "I am a sinner".
  2. Believe that Jesus Christ died for you on the cross and rose from the grave.
  3. Receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior trusting fully in Him and what He did on the cross for you.

Here is a suggested prayer for you to pray:

Dear Father God,

I know that my sin has separated me from you and that I need your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus died in my place, paying the price for my sins. I ask You Jesus to forgive my sin and to come into my life as my personal Savior and Lord. I place my trust in You and You alone Jesus. Help me by your grace and strength to live my life for You and Your purpose for my life. Thank you for giving me the gift of eternal life.

In Jesus’ name. Amen.

The Bible says...

"Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Romans 10:13 Did you sincerely ask Jesus Christ to come into your life? Where is He right now? What has he given you?

The Bible says...

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast." Ephesians 2:8,9

God commits himself to you.

God assures you that Jesus has come into your life.

"...I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you." John 14:20

"...God has said, ‘Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you’." Hebrews 13:5

Now what do I do?

This is just the beginning of a wonderful new life in Christ. To strengthen this relationship you should:

  1. Read your Bible everyday to know Christ better.
  2. Talk to God in prayer every day.
  3. Tell others about Jesus Christ.
  4. Worship, fellowship and serve with other Christians in a church where Christ is preached.
  5. As Christ’s representative in a needy world, demonstrate your new life by your love and concern for others.
